Window Fitter
A window fitter installs new or replacement windows and conservatories in buildings. You might work with traditional wooden- and metal-framed products as well as modern UPVC units.

Plasterer
As a plasterer, you would apply different kinds of plaster to walls and ceilings prior to decorating. You could also cover outside walls with coatings, including sand and cement and stone-effect materials.

Painters and decorators work on projects ranging from re-decorating homes, to applying heavy-duty finishes to large structures like bridges. As a painter and decorator on a domestic job, you would use paint, varnishes and wallpaper to decorate rooms. You would follow the householder's instructions about choice of colour, finishing texture and wallpaper patterns. Your main tasks would include.

Electrician
As a qualified electrician, you would fit, repair and test the electrical circuits and wiring found in homes. Your work might range from fitting a shower to laying cabling in a new office development.
